New year, new look!

Hello and welcome to my new look website. It was a new year and I fancied a refresh - I hope you like it!

As someone who is familiar with WordPress, and (I must admit) not a big fan of it, I've used Drupal for my new site.

Drupal is an open source content management system (CMS). Being "open source" means the software is publicly available, and there is no cost involved with using it - it is free to download and use. It is maintained by a dedicated community of developers, designers, trainers, strategists, coordinators, editors, and sponsors, and there are no licence fees to pay. Drupal has reliable performance, easy content authoring, and excellent security. But what sets it apart from other CMS, is its flexibility. Modularity is one of Drupal's core principles - you can access any number of different modules to extend the functionality of your website, without compromising the core security of the CMS or the performance of your website. This is where Drupal differs most from WordPress - any plugins you install on your WordPress-based site can compromise the core security of the site.

Many well-known websites are built using Drupal, including: BBCAmnesty International and University of Oxford.

Going forward, Drupal will be my recommended CMS to any new clients. If you're interested in having a website developed in a secure, flexible and scalable CMS, get in touch with me today to find out more!

I'd love to hear from you, so why not send me a Tweet or message via LinkedIn.
